DR. KIMBERLY FOX
Dr. Kimberly Fox is a board-certified pediatrician and the founder of Sunshine Pediatrics. Since opening the practice in 2004, she has been a steadfast advocate for whole-child wellness and compassionate, personalized care. Dr. Fox earned her medical degree from St. George’s University and brings a special focus to supporting children with ADHD and chronic conditions.
As a physician and a mother of two, Dr. Fox knows that families are looking not only for expertise—but also for empathy and trust. Her vision has always been to create a safe, welcoming space where children can thrive and families feel heard. She lives in Raleigh with her family and spends her free time solving puzzles, shopping local, and staying connected to the community she serves.
Fun Fact:
Dr. Fox is a puzzle wiz and loves a good shopping day off.
Pediatric Nurse Practitioner (PNP)
SIOBHAN BRENNAN
Siobhan Brennan (pronounced Sha-von) is a board-certified Pediatric Nurse Practitioner with a passion for helping kids grow—physically, emotionally, and with confidence. She earned her graduate degree from UNC-Chapel Hill and began her career as a pediatric nurse at UNC Children’s Hospital, where she gained over six years of experience in hematology/oncology and outpatient specialty care.
Today at Sunshine Pediatrics, Siobhan brings that deep clinical foundation into every visit, creating a calm, welcoming space where children and families feel supported through every developmental milestone. She lives in Raleigh with her husband and spends her downtime walking her neighborhood, attending concerts, and learning new creative skills.
Fun Fact:
Siobhan loves concerts, group fitness, and is teaching herself how to sew!
Certified Physician Assistant (PA-C)
CHELSEA ASHFORD
Chelsea Ashford is a certified Physician Assistant who believes deeply in the power of long-term relationships and whole-family care. After earning her Master’s in Physician Assistant Studies from East Carolina University, she joined Sunshine Pediatrics and also worked in the newborn nursery at Rex Hospital before returning to the practice she calls home.
Chelsea cherishes the opportunity to walk alongside families as their children grow—offering not just clinical care, but connection and continuity. Whether she’s treating a newborn or checking in with a teen, Chelsea approaches each visit with warmth, insight, and a genuine love for pediatrics. Outside the clinic, you’ll find her running, spending time with her husband Christian and daughter Emerson, dancing, or enjoying sunny days with their yellow lab, Millie.

Chelsea is a tap dancer and loves long beach days with her family.
Sunni, the Giraffe
Chief of Bravery and Bandages
Sunni the Giraffe is the tallest—and kindest—member of the Sunshine team. As our Chief of Bravery & Bandages, she’s always ready to cheer on kids during big appointments and little victories. Whether it’s a check-up, a shot, or a smile, Sunni brings comfort, courage, and a little sunshine wherever she goes. You’ll spot her on stickers, activity sheets, and maybe even giving out Sunshine Suckers to the bravest of patients.
